Spending some down time in our local casino resorts and hearing our visitor reactions during their stay makes me appreciate Lake Charles. We have the luxurious amenities, top name entertainment and in my opinion, excellent food in our casino resorts! Plus, Southwest Louisiana exudes Southern hospitality and getting around town is a breeze.

Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana offers several options for gaming that are all nearby and an easy drive away with free parking. When I’m going out with friends in Lake Charles, I love the option of meeting up at one of the resorts for dinner and walking along the gorgeously lit boardwalk to another property for dessert.

Watching the sunset on Contraband Bayou with a little sand in my toes, makes me feel like I’m on a resort vacation when I’m really right at home!My Southwest Louisiana Home Beach

If we don’t feel like walking, we can always take the trolley that runs back and forth between Golden Nugget Lake Charles and L’Auberge Casino Resort.

A friend of mine enjoys letting off a little steam from time to time at the Isle of Capri after work where she and her husband dance to Cajun music.  They often have local and regional bands in a low key atmosphere that is so much fun and it is literally right across the bridge in Westlake!

I enjoy sitting on the deck at the Isle of Capri, especially on summer weekends when the lake is full of fishermen and sailboats, to watch the sunset over the waterway.

Since we live in Carlyss, just south of Sulphur, Delta Downs Racetrack Hotel & Casino is right down the highway.  They just opened up a brand new restaurant, Rosewater Tavern & Grill, that has large windows overlooking the racetrack action.

I can’t wait for them to finish up the expansion project on their events center. I’m ready for more concerts and special events in Vinton, La.!
