McNeese Sports 
The McNeese State University athletic program is a member of NCAA Division I and the Southland Conference. McNeese Sports have been very successful and the Cowboy football team has won 12 Southland Conference Championships and made two National Championship Appearances. The Men's basketball team has won 11 conference championships, made three 3 NCAA tournament appearances, two NIT appearances and is the home of Basketball Hall of Fame member Joe Dumars. The Cowboy baseball team has won four conference championships and made four NCAA tournament appearances. The track and field team has had two national champions and 13 conference team championships. The Cowboy golf team has won five conference and individual championships and has two players on the PGA Tour. The Cowgirl Soccer team has won back to back conference championships. The Cowgirl Volleyball team has made 25 conference tournament appearances. The Cowgirl Basketball team has won one conference championship. The Softball team has won one conference championship and has made two NCAA Tournament appearances.

Louisiana Swashbucklers Indoor Football 
The Louisiana Swashbucklers are Southwest Louisiana's premier professional sports team. The Swashbucklers play Professional Indoor Football in the Lake Charles Civic Center Coliseum. In 2012 the Swashbucklers became a founding member of the Professional Indoor Football League and will kick off the 2012 season on March 17, 2012 in front of a home crowd. The Swashbucklers organization believes in creating a competitive athletic environment for its players and to use it's platform in the community to serve the community for the greater good.
