Wounded Warrior Softball Tournament
July 13-14
The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST), a nationally recognized team comprised of amputee active duty military personnel and veterans, will play against Olympic Gold medalist Jennie Finch-Daigle and a team of all-stars July 13-14 in the "Battle on the Bayou" softball tournament in Sulphur. The tournament will be held at McMurry Park, with game events beginning each night at 5 p.m.
Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased online at www.jenniefinchstore.com, all Calcasieu Parish McDonald's locations, both locations of Dynamic Dimensions Fitness Centers, and Sulphur City Hall.
The Jennie Finch Softball Camp will also be held in conjunction with the tournament and more information can be found at the Jennie Finch Store.
All proceeds from the event will go towards helping wounded warrior amputees. It will also aid in the support of the WWAST. Sponsorships for the event are available and donations are also being accepted. For more information, please call (337) 527-4241.
The mission of the WWAST is to raise awareness of the sacrifices and resilience of military personnel despite the challenges arising from being an amputee. Their goal is to demonstrate that unlimited possibilities exist for those with disabilities.
