Brian Levens, Samuel V. Wilkinson
Appointed to CVB's Board of Directors

LAKE CHARLES, La. (Jan. 29, 2013)-The Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has two new appointees joining the board of directors with Brian Levens representing the West Calcasieu Association of Commerce and Samuel V. Wilkinson nominated by the Chamber Southwest.

"The staff and board at the CVB welcome Brian and Sam, and we are looking forward to working with them to further enhance our mission of strengthening the economic fabric of Southwest Louisiana," said Shelley Johnson, executive director at the CVB.

Levens has been a Financial Advisor at Edward Jones Investment Co. since 2006. He was the 2011 West Calcasieu Association of Commerce president and assisted with organizing the Wounded Warriors Softball Game. He serves the community through a variety of organizations including Sulphur Vision and Campfire Southwest. Levens is a 1996 graduate of Sulphur High School, and he attended Louisiana State University from 1996-1999 and McNeese State University from 2000-2001.

Wilkinson is Sr. Vice President at First Federal Bank of Louisiana where he serves as the Chief Risk Officer and Director of Human Resources. Prior to joining First Federal in 2007, Wilkinson served as Sr. Vice President with Hibernia/Capital One Bank. He is a Vinton native and graduate of McNeese State University and LSU Graduate School of Banking. Wilkinson is past president of Louisiana Young Bankers, Contraband Days Festival, Kiwanis Club of South Lake Charles and has served on many local boards and committees including the Lake Charles Symphony, American Cancer Society, Boy Scouts of America and the Lake Charles Civil Service Board.

The CVB is governed by an 11 member board of directors. Michael Dees representing the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury serves as the chairman of the board with Gary Cooper appointed by the West Calcasieu Community Center Authority serving as the vice chairman. Donna Richard representing Southwest Louisiana Arts and Humanities is the secretary treasurer.
