Bureau Presents City of Sulphur with a
Grant for the 2014 Sulphur Centennial
LAKE CHARLES, La. (August 8, 2013)-The Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) presented a $10,000 Tourism Marketing Development Grant to Mayor Duncan with the City of Sulphur in preparation for the Sulphur Centennial events taking in March of 2014.
"The board of directors at the CVB was pleased to assist with the Sulphur Centennial through the Tourism Marketing Development Grant. It is a monumental occasion for a city to reach 100 years. The bureau is anticipating exciting festivities and commemorative events for the centennial, including the opening of the Sulphur Mines permanent exhibit inside the Brimstone Museum which will showcase the rich history of the city for residents and visitors," said Shelley Johnson, executive director of the bureau.
