Calling All Parade Lovers...Mardi Gras Parades Open for Entries
LAKE CHARLES, La. (December 20, 2011)-Mardi Gras of Southwest Louisiana is inviting the community to help them paint the town purple, green and gold!
Entries are now being accepted for the Merchant's Parade, Children's Parade, Lighted Boat Parade and the Motorcycles, Hot Rods and Classics Parade.
The Merchants' Parade is scheduled for Friday, February 17 at 7 p.m. The Children's Parade will roll at 3 p.m. and the Lighted Boat Parade will sail at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 19. The Motorcycles, Hot Rods and Classics Parade will take place at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21.
All three parades will roll from the Lake Charles Civic Center to Broad Street and then head south down Ryan Street. These parades are all open to the public to enter.
The cost to enter the Merchants' and Children's Parades is $40 per float/vehicle, per parade. The cost to enter the Motorcycles, Hot Rods and Classic Parade is $5 per motorcycle and $10 per hot rod or classic. Forms and entry fees must be received by Tuesday, Feb. 1.
