SULPHUR, La. (February 6, 2014)-The Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) entered into a cooperative endeavor with the City of Sulphur in 2012-2013 to produce signage for visitors visiting tourist attractions or finding their way to and from popular places of interest such as SPAR Water Park, Frasch Park, Heritage Square and the historic downtown area.
"The Sulphur Way-finding Signage project was intricate and involved as the City of Sulphur and the bureau worked together to find the best locations to direct travelers who are visiting the area. We feel that these signs will improve the visitor experience while also being attractive additions to the streetscape," said Shelley Johnson, executive director of the CVB.
There are 14 signs in total that are currently being installed, perfect for the spring travel and summer sports season. The bureau granted the city $20,000 for the initial sign project, and the Sulphur City Council opted to expand the project with additional signs for nearly $12,000.
