Experience the Flavor and Culture at the Taste of Louisiana Festival

LAKE CHARLES, La. (April 10, 2012)-The 2nd Annual Taste of Louisiana Festival, LLC is proud to announce a new date scheduled for Memorial Weekend Saturday May 26th, 2012 at The Lake Charles Civic Center Arcade Amphitheater.

The Taste of Louisiana Festival was voted as one of the Top 5 festivals in Lake Charles after its inaugural year in 2011. The festival is a family event that highlights Louisiana traditions, food, music and culture collectively in one event. The event is designed to embrace the Cajun, Creole and Indian heritage of the State of Louisiana to locals and visitors alike.

Taste culinary creations including the signature dish "crawfish" while listening to the sounds of Cajun, Zydeco, Country, Blues and New Orleans brass bands to experience the rhythm of Louisiana. There will be various history lessons at the Culture Corner, a free lesson and recipes from Chef Carolyn Shelton at Chef's Corner, and the 1st Barbecue Rib Cook-off. Visit the French Market to find one-of-a kind collectibles, arts and crafts, and authentic Louisiana items.

It is estimated the 2012 attendance will reach 8,000 to 10,000 festival goers. This year, we celebrate the Louisiana Bicentennial with many more Louisiana cuisines, activities, performances, and exhibits to commemorate this occasion as well as the usual Memorial Day festivities.
