Free Scholarship Financial Aid Seminar
LAKE CHARLES, La. (August 10, 2013)-The Phillips 66 Black Employee Network in partnership with the Black Heritage Festival of Louisiana will hold their 8th Annual Scholarship Seminar on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 9 a.m. at the Lake Charles Civic Center Contraband Room. Students and parents will learn about graduation requirements, when and how to apply for scholarships and visit with colleges and vocational-technical schools.
The first 100 households will receive a scholarship workbook. All students will be eligible for fantastic door prizes along with a trophy for the school with the highest attendance.
Participants will include: Grambling State University, Louisiana State University, Louisiana Tech University, McNeese State University, Northwestern State University, Southern University, University of Louisiana at Monroe, Xavier University, Associated Builders & Contractors Trade School, SOWELA Technical Community College and the U.S. Army. The Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) will also have a representative on site along with other education service vendors.
This event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored in part by Phillips 66, Capital One and the McNeese State University Upward Bound Program.
