Iowa Rabbit Festival is Hopping with Entertainment
Featuring Season 16 The Voice Contestant Gyth Rigdon

LAKE CHARLES, La. (March 7, 2019)— This year, the Iowa Rabbit Festival is hopping with entertainment and events.  The festival will take place Thursday – Saturday, March 14 – 16 at the Burton Coliseum Complex, located at 7001 Gulf Highway, Lake Charles, LA.

Celebrating the economic and culinary impact rabbits have in Southwest Louisiana, the annual Iowa Rabbit Festival is a one-of-a-kind event with great food, live music and a cook-off competition. All proceeds from the festival go to support the community of Iowa and various other youth organizations, schools and not-for-profit groups.

From local Cajun favorites to regional headliners, this family-friendly event features some of the top musical acts in the area. The Iowa Rabbit Festival kicks off the entertainment on Friday evening, with performances by Charlie Wayne, Dustin Sonnier, and Wayne Toups.  This star-studded line-up continues Saturday with Casey Peveto, Jamie Bergeron, and Chee-Weez.  The festival wraps up with a performance by Southwest Louisiana native and Season 16 The Voice contestant Gyth Rigdon at 9 p.m., followed by the DJ After Party by Deep South Productions.

Festival hours are Thursday from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. (free gate night - carnival only), Friday 5 p.m. – midnight, and Saturday from 10 a.m. - midnight. Admission is $5. Carnival tickets will be sold at an additional cost. For more information, visit
