LAKE CHARLES, La. (December 18, 2012)-Calcasieu Council on Aging presents the Krewe of the Golden Year's 18th Annual Mardi Gras Ball on Tuesday, February 5 in the Lake Charles Civic Center Coliseum.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. and is free for seniors 60 and over. All attendants are encouraged to wear a mask and dress for the occasion in their favorite Mardi Gras attire.

The day gets rolling with a continental breakfast, and by mid-morning, is in full swing with lots of dancing, a costume contest and the crowning of the 2013 "Krewe of the Golden Year's King & Queen."

Live entertainment will be provided by Louisiana Scramble and are sure to keep your feet moving. After loads of dancing and fun, a delicious lunch of gumbo with all the trimmings and king cake will be served for all to enjoy.

The Calcasieu Council on Aging will crown Toni Caraway as the 2013 Queen. Caraway established the Krewe of the Golden Years in 1994 and for the past 18 years has served as the Krewe's Captain. Since its formation, senior citizens in Calcasieu Parish have experienced a Mardi Gras Celebration designed for them to enjoy.
