Launches “Best Ever” Campaign

LAKE CHARLES, La. (May 3, 2018) – In the spirit of National Tourism Week, May 5-13, there is much to appreciate about the tourism industry in Southwest Louisiana, having added more than $654 million to the local economy. In addition to events and the impact of tourism, the Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau (LC/SWLA CVB) is showcasing its new branding campaign for the area, the “Best Ever” campaign.

“The new campaign lets the photos and strong imagery do the talking, and the idea of the ‘Best Ever’ is fun, and it brings in the everyday language that people use. Headlines such as the ‘Best Cooking Ever’ or the ‘Best Nightlife Ever’ are memorable, and it challenges people to see what the buzz is all about. In addition, we are promoting a new marketing logo that is clear and modern, emphasizing the idea of ‘water’ being that the hub city in Southwest Louisiana is Lake Charles, and water is an attractive quality of our area, throughout Southwest Louisiana,” said Angie Manning, communications director.

The LC/SWLA CVB is the official destination marketing organization (DMO) for Calcasieu Parish, dedicated to strengthening the economic fabric of Southwest Louisiana through overnight visitation. In 2017, $645.76 million was added to the local economy through travel expenditures; the bureau booked over 67,000 room nights, and the LC/SWLA CVB was honored with Convention South’s Annual Readers’ Choice Award. The dedicated staff works to showcase the best of Southwest Louisiana through marketing, promotions, public relations, and sales efforts to bring meetings, conventions, tournaments, media tours and groups to Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana.
