The 18th World LNG & Gas Series: Americas Summit & Exhibition will be held in Lake Charles in November

LAKE CHARLES, La. (October 20, 2021)— The 18th World LNG & Gas Series: Americas Summit & Exhibition will be hosted in the epicenter of the United States LNG movement: Lake Charles, Louisiana, on Nov. 2-4, 2021, with the support and endorsement of partners – City of Lake Charles, Visit Lake Charles, Port of Lake Charles, Cameron Parish Port Harbor and Terminal District, Southwest Louisiana Economic Development Alliance, and the police juries of Calcasieu and Cameron parishes.

The Americas Summit is the longest-running LNG and gas event in the Americas region and will be the first international conference held in Southwest Louisiana. Presented by dmg events, the Summit will be hosted at the Golden Nugget and is expected to bring more than 300 C-suite attendees and generate an estimated economic impact of over $250,000 for Southwest Louisiana.

“On behalf of all of our partners, it gives me great pleasure to welcome the World LNG & Gas Series: Americas Summit & Exhibition to Southwest Louisiana,” said Lake Charles Mayor Nic Hunter. “Southwest Louisiana has rapidly grown to become the epicenter of US LNG, and the Summit will be a great platform to showcase our area’s resiliency as our work continues on long-term recovery efforts following the string of natural disasters that impacted our area in late 2020 and early 2021.”

This year, and for the first time since its inception, the World LNG & Gas Series: Americas Summit & Exhibition will launch a University Program to further promote greater dialogue between corporations and their potential leaders of tomorrow. In partnership with SOWELA and McNeese State University and co-hosted by Cheniere and Bechtel, this is the perfect opportunity for students looking into careers within the energy space.

“With seven Liquefied Natural Gas export facilities either already exporting LNG, expanding, under construction, awaiting Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval or Final Investment Decisions, Cameron Parish is the global hotbed of LNG export project development. The Cameron Parish Port is a major player in creating our nation’s energy independence,” said Clair Marceaux, Port Director of the Cameron Parish Port, Harbor & Terminal District.

“Southwest LA is the epicenter of the United States LNG exports, making us the ideal host for this notable conference,” said Kyle Edmiston, President/CEO of Visit Lake Charles. “Visit Lake Charles is looking forward to rolling out the red carpet to worldwide industry leaders and decision-makers while showcasing Louisiana’s hospitality, cuisine and culture in addition to our resorts and the great outdoors. This prestigious convention will put a bright spotlight on the capabilities that Southwest Louisiana has as a premier corporate meeting destination.”

“The Summit this year will feature highly significant conversations that will help shape the changing LNG and gas landscape globally. We are proud to provide a platform for the entire LNG business, including decision makers from primary and secondary tier LNG and gas buyers, to meet safely and securely to address how the LNG industry can mitigate its carbon footprint,” said Tanya Crossick, dmg events Energy Vice President. “We are looking forward to a very robust and productive conversation that will help chart the course for the future of the industry.”

Speakers at this year’s event include: Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser, State of Louisiana; Mayor Nic Hunter, City of Lake Charles; Lisa Glatch, President & Chief Operating Officer of Sempra Infrastructure; Octávio Simões, President & CEO of Tellurian Inc.; Anatol Feygin, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer of Cheniere Energy; Atsunori Takeuchi, Executive Officer & Senior General Manager LNG Business Dept. of Tokyo Gas; Bhupesh Thakkar, SVP – GM of LNG & Regas, Energy, Bechtel Energy Inc.; Mike VanderMate, VP of Engineering & Construction of Sempra Infrastructure.
