The Lost Hollows Haunted Attraction
Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Event
LAKE CHARLES, La. (Sept. 26, 2018)—The Southeast Tourism Society (STS) recently honored The Lost Hollows as a 2018 Top 20 Event for the month of October.
If you like a little fright with your Halloween fun, then check out The Lost Hollows Haunted Trails in Lake Charles. Begin your journey with an eerie hayride from the back of the Lake Charles Power Centre parking lot, 3413 Derek Dr., Lake Charles, and travel to the creepiest woods in Southwest Louisiana. Hayride shuttle lines start at 6 p.m. and stop 30 minutes before the trails close. The Lost Hollows will be scaring every Friday and Saturday starting on Sept. 28. Don’t miss the “Lights Out” event on Tuesday, Oct. 31, where victims make their way through the woods with nothing but a flashlight to guide them. Individual ticket prices are $22 and $35 for Fast Pass tickets. Children under 13 years must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, visit www.thelosthollows.com or call 337-415-9159.
The Lost Hollows, a locally owned and family-operated attraction, is the largest and most terrifying outdoor haunt in Lake Charles, LA, but the attraction is more than just entertainment for the community. With October being national bullying prevention month, The Lost Hollows partners with the Calcasieu Parish School Board and Don't Be a Monster, a national nonprofit organization, to bring an anti-bullying presentation into local schools.
The Southwest Louisiana Convention and Visitors Bureau is a member of STS, an organization that promotes travel to and within the southeastern part of the United States. The bureau nominates all area fairs, festivals and events quarterly. The STS Top 20 Events marketing program highlights the “best of the best” from submitted entries.
Events are selected from each of the following STS member states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. The Top 20 Events publication is sent to over 1,600 media outlets each quarter, including web, magazines, radio stations, TV stations, AAA publications and newspapers. The combined circulation of organizations using the publication is well into the millions. Therefore, the potential media coverage of these events has made the Top 20 Events list a coveted honor.
