Meet The Author
Amy Brassette

Amy was born and raised in Lake Charles, graduated from Barbe High School, and majored in Theatre at Northwestern State and McNeese State. Her love for acting began onstage as a sketch and improv comic with over 50 original characters and impressions. She is best known as a Series Regular for 22 episodes in Fox's prime time sketch-comedy series Cedric the Entertainer Presents. She starred in the first national commercials for Apple iBook (with Milo Ventimiglia) and Apple iPhoto and a list of national and international commercials for brands like Diet Pepsi, Cars.com, and McVitie’s cookies. Recent projects include the role of Carla Gwartney in Season 1 of HBO's hit series True Detective with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson and a stand-up comic in "The Last Laugh" with Chevy Chase and Richard Dreyfuss.

After 11 years in Los Angeles, two years in Baton Rouge, and two years in Orlando, she returned to Lake Charles in 2014 with a husband and two little boys. Raising her boys near the love of family has been incredible. Amy works as an actor with "local hire" status in projects filmed in New Orleans, Atlanta, and other cities throughout the Southeast U.S. market. Her ability to transform often makes her unrecognizable in many of her television and film roles, both comedic and dramatic.

Amy loves writing, yoga, traveling, watching standup comedy, cooking, and cuddling with her little boys. She likes her hammock, Pinterest, and scarves. She loves all things creative and gets through laundry and dishes by listening to interesting podcasts.
