If you missed the Louisiana Food and Wine Festival, no worries. The tasting extravaganza returns September 18-21, 2025! There are still plenty of fall and winter celebrations to enjoy. From the electrifying energy of Chuck Fest to our irresistible culinary events, Louisiana's Playground invites you to revel in a whirlwind of festivity and flavor.
Chuck Fest
Chuck Fest, a vibrant celebration of Louisiana culture, is set to return to Downtown Lake Charles on Saturday, October 19, 2024. This annual festival, which began in 2014 to commemorate Luna Bar and Grill’s 10th anniversary, has become one of the city’s largest and most anticipated events.
With a diverse lineup of local and regional bands such as The Flamethrowers, LeTrainiump, Jarvis Jacob and the Gents, and the Charlie Wayne Band, attendees can immerse themselves in the rich sounds of Louisiana’s music scene. In addition to the stellar performances, Chuck Fest features two dozen art vendors and 20 food trucks and food vendors, offering a variety of local culinary delights and unique arts and crafts.
Smoke & Barrel
From November 14-17, 2024, Smoke & Barrel turns downtown Lake Charles and the lawn of the Calcasieu Parish Courthouse into a festive celebration of spirits and Southern charm. This event offers an array of experiences, including the Grand Tasting on November 16, where you can sample an impressive selection of bourbons, scotches, and whiskeys, each paired with mouthwatering barbeque.
From September 27 to November 14, enjoy the Cocktail Royale: Cocktail Competition. Stop by local bars and restaurants to enjoy a unique cocktail crafted with a special bourbon, and vote for your favorite. It’s a fun way to explore Southwest Louisiana while enjoying the innovative cocktails and creative mixology the area offers. Then on November 14, find out who the winner is at the Cocktail Royale Finale.
The festival concludes at the Smokin’ Brunch on Sunday, November 17 at Charthouse in the Golden Nugget. Unwind in a relaxed atmosphere, with flavorful bites and bold sips. Christmas Under the Oaks
Step into a winter wonderland at Christmas Under the Oaks and Holiday House, where festive cheer takes center stage in Sulphur from December 5-7, 2024! The historic Henning Cultural Center and Brimstone Museum will sparkle with twinkling lights, holiday music, and a joyful atmosphere. Enjoy a magical mix of over 40 artisans, delightful food vendors, carnival rides, and charming carriage rides down Pecan Street. And yes, there will be snow, adding an extra touch of holiday magic to the celebration!
The festivities start with the Holiday House Preview Gala on Thursday, featuring a Sip & Shop, gourmet treats, and live music. On Friday and Saturday, the holiday fun continues with a bustling Holiday House market, thrilling carnival rides, and live musical performances. Whether strolling through the festive grounds, enjoying the morning parade, or catching live music, Christmas Under the Oaks promises a holiday experience full of joy and unforgettable moments for the entire family.
