Boudin
What is Boudin?
Considered a staple snack in the southern regions of the Bayou State, boudin is made of varying amounts of pork meat, liver, rice, onions, parsley and dry seasonings like salt, red pepper, black pepper and garlic powder. Bought by the pound, boudin is Southwest Louisiana's favorite finger food. It's perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner or anytime in between. See listings below for places where you can find boudin.
The Southwest Louisiana Boudin Trail
The best way to find your favorite boudin is to sample it. In Southwest Louisiana that means travelling the Southwest Louisiana Boudin Trail along U.S. Interstate 10 and visiting any mom and pop food establishment, specialty meat shop, or grocery store that has boudin fresh or packaged. We have compiled a convenient list of stops that provide boudin. You may pick up a brochure at our visitors center or download it from the link below.
