Arts & Crabs Fest is a homegrown Southwest Louisiana festival celebrating the ties between our seafood and culture – our region’s greatest national assets. The event will be held on Aug. 19, 2017 at the Burton Complex, starting at 5 p.m.
Celebrating the arts and culture of the region as well as the culinary arts found in Southwest Louisiana, Arts & Crabs Fest will take place Saturday, Aug. 19, from 5 – 8 p.m., at the Burton Coliseum. The event will offer an extensive crab dish and beer tasting, featuring local chefs preparing a unique dish representative of their cuisine’s styles. Crab chefs will also battle for festivalgoers’ votes in the annual Best Crab Dish Award, determined by the amount of tips each chef receives. Additionally, the event will feature live Cajun music by Nee de Traditionne (“Born from Tradition”) and an eclectic art market with live demonstrations. A limited number of early bird tickets are priced at $30, and the remaining tickets will be $40 each. Tickets are available to purchase online at www.artsandcrabsfest2017.eventbrite.com.
Arts & Crabs Fest, recognized as a “Top 20 Event in the Southeast” for four years in a row by the Southeast Tourism Society, will showcase live regional music as well as an interactive art market with local art for sale.
Funds raised at Arts & Crabs Fest are reinvested back into the SWLA community through the Arts Council’s services and events.
