REGISTRATION FOR ACTING CLASSES, AGES 5 TO 18 HAPPENING NOW.....
The Children’s Theatre Company (CTC) announces 2019 Spring Classes and Auditions for JAMES & THE GIANT PEACH. Artistic Director, Kerry A. Onxley presents this classic, with all the unforgettable characters in CTC’s adaptation of Roald Dahl’s popular story on stage Saturday, May 11 at 7:30PM and Sunday, May 12 at 3:00PM.
Students, ages 9-18, attend acting classes every Monday and Wednesday from 4:00-6:00PM beginning in March and work on acting skills. The session concludes with a production of JAMES & THE GIANT PEACH.
CTC, which specializes in theatre education for students ages 5 to 18, rehearses during the week and creates sets, costumes and special effects on the weekend. The actors receive hands-on training both in performance and technical aspects.
Students, ages 5 to 8, participate in an acting class designed to teach acting skills by immersing them in interactive dramatic situations using role-playing and improvisational technique to create unique adventures. Every Tuesday, from 5:00PM-6:00PM, these students experience theatre exercises, games and music created to introduce them to formal theatre. The students are showcased at the end of the session in a demonstration performance.
Sessions last until May and no experience is necessary. Auditions for James & the Giant Peach will be held Wednesday, March 20 at 4:00PM at the Central School of the Arts & Humanities Center (809 Kirby; Suite 313).
