Our annual Christmas Concert will be offered again in two venues, Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Lake Charles on Friday, December 9 at 7:30 PM and Immaculate Conception Church in Sulphur on Sunday, December 11 at 3PM. We will be performing Mark Hayes’ dramatic setting of the Gloria. In describing the work, Hayes states, “The scripture upon which the first movement of the Gloria is based tells a story that is both dramatic and profoundly life-changing . . . it is my desire to capture the excitement that the angels announced to the shepherds and to hint at the glory of that celestial experience.” We will also perform ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas by Clement Clark Moore with music provided by Ken Darby and arranged for choir by Harry Simeone. In addition to our portion of the program, we will feature the Bayou Bell Choir and Les Petites Voix performing seasonal selections. As is customary, we will conclude the program with our traditional setting of “O Holy Night.”
Tickets are available at Swicegood Music at $15 and students and children free.
