Calcasieu residents are invited to three family friendly movies at Prien Lake Park and one movie at Mallard Junction Park, when Movies Under the Stars returns this October. The silver screen lights up Friday, October 7th and continues through Friday, October 28th.
This October, Movies Under the Stars features feisty birds on swine patrol, a true life story about a football legend, a gutsy bunny determined to make her dreams come true and a monster boot camp of epic proportions.
- October 7th – (Mallard Junction Park) What started out as a video game has now brought its special brand of hilarity to the big screen in “Angry Birds.” Follow Red, Chuck and Bomb, three outcasts on a cheerful island who save the unsuspecting residents from a nefarious pig invasion!
- October 14th – (Prien Lake Park) A State Championship becomes much more than a ball game when a high school coach builds a bridge of trust ending racial segregation in local football. Denzel Washington gives a dynamic performance in this award-winning film based on a true story, “Remember the Titans.”
- October 21st – (Prien Lake Park) A determined bunny police officer teams up with a slick, con-artist fox to solve a threat that could destroy the peace between predator and prey in “Zootopia.”
- October 28th – (Prien Lake Park) In “Hotel Transylvania 2,” Dracula and his hotel of ghouls put his half human, half vampire grandson through “monster-in-training” boot camp in order to keep Dracula’s daughter from leaving the hotel.
