Sax in the City has featured and showcased artists such as Louisiana sax sensations Marcus Davis and JB Saax; stellar Gospel Sax performer Alex Allen; Washington, D.C. national recording artist Merlon Devine and Berklee College of Music alum and jazz violinist extraordinaire Jairus Daigle, just to name a few. This year's show promises to be the biggest and best yet! There will also be a visual art gallery at this year's show highlighting local artists.There is a catered dinner at 5:00 followed by a concert at 7:00 PM.
“Sax in the City 150: Experience Lake Charles! A Passport to Food, Art & Music” will feature Mickey Smith, Jr., a three-time Grammy finalist, local music educator, saxophonist extraordinaire and civic leader.

The mission for this event is to bring awareness to Music Makers, an organization that refurbishes old instruments and gives them to at-risk children or children who are interested in learning how to play. There is a drop off at the concerts for people interested in donating instruments to the cause.
