The 42nd Annual Palm Sunday Tour of Homes will feature homes throughout historic Lake Charles with gracious homeowners sharing their gardens and interiors on Palm Sunday, April 9. A favorite for garden lovers and history connoisseurs, everyone can learn about our area's past while appreciating our Lake Charles architecture found in historic neighborhoods throughout the area.
The theme of this year's tour is "Future and Past." The tour will feature properties in the Historic Charpentier District north of Broad Street in Lake Charles and will include some special architectural treats. You will not want to miss this spectacular tour, crafted especially for the 150th Anniversary of the founding of Lake Charles!
There will be (at this time) five properties on tour, all of them in the north west corner of the Charpentier National Register Historic District. The tour will show different types of preservation: preservation of historic structures and the preservation of neighborhoods by the additions of suitable new construction. In addition, there will be excellent examples of renovations, upgrades, and rehabilitation of heritage homes. There will be a full color souvenir program. Tour headquarters on Palm Sunday will be the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
