On Sunday, March 22, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards issued a stay-at-home order to combat coronavirus spread. The order requires Louisiana residents to shelter-at-home unless going out for essential tasks effective until April 12. Many attractions, concerts, events, and festivals have either been postponed or canceled activities until that time. View Updates

Frills, feathers and Mardi Gras magic will be in full swing during the Town of Vinton's Mardi Gras celebration in downtown Vinton.

The Knights of Columbus will host a gumbo cook-off at 10 a.m. when the teams will begin cooking. There will be a parade at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, starting at Vinton Middle School and ending at Knights of Columbus Hall where the gumbo judging will begin at 2 p.m. Free gumbo tasting begins after the judging.
