Ghoulish Events for All Ages

1. Movies in the Square

The City of Sulphur presents two nights of frightfully good fun at Heritage Square with Movies in the Square! Watch your favorite Halloween movies, "Hocus Pocus" and "Goosebumps."  Your favorite candies, some popcorn, and a blanket makes this an awesome activity to do on Halloween.  All Movies in the Square begin at sunset. In the event of rain, movies will be rescheduled. 

2. Lake Charles Community Band's Halloween Concert

Celebrate the season with a concert performance by the Lake Charles Community Band. The music begins at 7 p.m. on the second floor mezzanine of the Lake Charles Civic Center. DETAILS

3. Trunk or Treat parties & Pumpkin Patches

Walking through neighborhoods and knocking on doors is so over! Today's kids prefer collecting their candy all at once and in record time! Several area schools, business, and churches host Trunk or Treat parties and pumpkin patches before or on Halloween night. Click here for a full list of events.  

4. Zombie Patrol, Lake Area Adventures

The zombie apocalypse has begun! Enlist now to join the fight. Bring your friends, family, or coworkers for a scary night of platoon style paintball raids through our abandoned warehouse course. Learn more and pre-register, here. DETAILS

5. Zombie Hunt, Bayou Games

Armed with customized guns and a load of glow-in-the-dark paintballs, you will climb aboard our battle wagons and enter the field where local news reports confirm zombies have been lurking…and they know you’re coming. After hunting live zombies from the safety of our super-tricked-out battlewagons, you have the option to hunt more of them in our Laser Tag battlefield. Spooky Celebrations for Teens & Adults

1. The Lost Hollows

Begin your terrifying Halloween journey with a hayride at The Lost Hollows! After traveling to the creepiest woods in Southwest Louisiana, get lost on the Deadly Pines trail, a spine-tingling path that winds through the woods and into your darkest fears.  The Hollows will be turning off the lights along the Deadly Pines trail for a special October 31 event, but the monsters and terrors will still be roaming the woods. 2. Murder at Moon Mansion

This mystery dinner show is perfect for a haunted evening out. Strange occurrences have been reported for years at the Moon Mansion and a cold case investigation is in full swing to try to solve the murder of Minnie Moon.  Provided with clues-  it’s up to you - to avenge Minnie’s untimely death! Dates: Saturday, October 14 and Saturday, October 28. 

3. "Sweeney Todd" presented by KC Productions

A Halloween and cult classic, this performance of Sweeney Todd is sure to get your skin crawling! It's the infamous story of Benjamin Barker, a.k.a. Sweeney Todd, who sets up a barber shop down in London which is the basis for a sinister partnership with his fellow tenant, Mrs. Lovett. Based on the hit Broadway musical. It will be on stage at the Central School Arts & Humanities Center from October 26-29. 

Fun for the Fitness Freaks

1. Spooky Trail 10 Miler

The Lake Area Runners challenge you to a terrifying run at Sam Houston State Park! Okay, it won't be scary (unless you get a leg cramp) but it will be loads of fun. Stick around for post race food and drink. DETAILS 

2. "Tales from the Mat" Yoga Class

This special black light yoga flow is loads of fun. Expect spooky visuals and ghostly music. Make sure you wear bright colors or be prepared to paint yourself with glow paints, so the whole class can glow. DETAILS
