Louisiana Film Incentives

Louisiana has become one of the top destinations in the world for motion picture production as filmmakers discover the benefits of well-trained and experienced Louisiana-based crews, world-class production facilities and the highly appealing Motion Picture Investor Tax Credit.

Demand from film and television producers has caused a boom in the state’s infrastructure. It features diverse shooting locations from marshlands to big cities as well as multi-million dollar soundstages and post-production houses. From key department positions to a large selection of diverse extras, Louisiana has the local workforce to maximize the benefits of any production filming in the state.

The Motion Picture Investor Tax Credit provides state-certified motion picture productions with up to a 30 percent transferable tax credit on eligible in-state expenditures. These include resident and non-resident labor with a spending requirement of at least $300,000 and $50,000 for local Louisiana productions. Louisiana offers an additional 10 percent payroll tax credit for productions using resident labor.

Additional information can be found on the Louisiana Entertainment website.
