Cuisine

GumboAnd what is a trip to Louisiana without some authentic Cajun cuisine? Southwest Louisiana's favorite finger food is now on the first ever SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA BOUDIN TRAIL! Boudin is a cajun sausage popular in southern Louisiana. Our trail takes you to all the local boudin masters with homemade boudin sure to tickle your taste buds. Set yourself down with a steaming hot bowl of gumbo and a boudin link and you'll wish you would never have to leave!

Creole Nature Trail

Duck-hunt.jpgFrom the central Louisiana pine forests, the Calcasieu River flows through Lake Charles to the Gulf of Mexico.  Designated a "Natural and Scenic River," the Calcasieu and its tributaries offer incredible beauty as well as good fishing.  As the Calcasieu transitions from an upland sandy stream into a cypress-lined river, fishermen discover that bass, catfish, panfish (brim), crappie (white perch) and bream are among the good catches. We have experienced fishing guides to show you the hottest spots to lure in your catch of the day. Also come to hunt wild game during our fall hunting season to bag some mallards or deer.

If you wish to take a more leisurely approach, then you will surely enjoy the Creole Nature Trail All-American Road. In Louisiana's Outback, one of America's "Last Great Wildernesses," you have the opportunity to experience world-famous wildlife habitats and estuaries. The Creole Nature Trail is a journey through a wild and rugged terrain unique to Louisiana, America and the world. Pack a picnic lunch, load up the car, and don't forget your binoculars.
