Allstate Sugar Bowl LHSAA Marsh Madness
Boys’ Basketball State Championship Tournament 

LAKE CHARLES, La. (February 20, 2018)—The Allstate Sugar Bowl Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) Marsh Madness Boys’ Basketball State Championship Tournament will be held at the Burton Complex, 7001 Gulf Hwy., March 5-10. 

“The LHSAA staff and the teams have worked hard to get to this point. We enjoy the hospitality of the Southwest Louisiana area, the professionalism of the staff at Burton and the convention & visitors bureau. We have a strong partnership with Southwest Louisiana, and we are prepared for an outstanding championship tournament,” said Eddie Bonine, LHSAA executive director. 

“We are looking forward to having these athletes and their families back in Southwest Louisiana, the Youth Sports Capital of Louisiana. We appreciate the outpouring of support from the community, our partners in tourism, volunteers and sports enthusiasts who make events memorable for everyone involved,” said Shelley Johnson, executive director of the Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau.

“The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury is thrilled to have the opportunity to host the Marsh Madness Boys’ Basketball Championships for the fifth consecutive year. We look forward to this opportunity every year in welcoming players and fans to our community. We hope this year’s tournament is a success, and we wish the best of luck to the teams fighting for their chance to be deemed State champions,” said Jason Barnes, Burton Complex Director.

“We are excited to have the LHSAA Boys’ Basketball State Championship Tournament at Burton Coliseum.  We hope the fans and players have a great experience, both at the games and while they are visiting our area.  This is a tremendous opportunity for us to show our guests all the great things found in Southwest Louisiana,” said Mayor Nic Hunter of the City of Lake Charles.

Tickets are $10 at the door each day, and the gates open one hour prior to the tournament starting each day. All 7 Classes and all 5 Divisions (Classes 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, 1A, B, C – Division I, Division II, Division III, Division IV, Division V) will be featured in the tournament.
