The Louisiana High School Rodeo Association (LHSRA) will host the Louisiana Junior High and High School Finals Rodeos at the Burton Coliseum Complex May 29 - June 6. With upgrades to the facility, the Burton Coliseum Complex is ready to welcome more than 200 contestants from across the state. All are striving for championship titles, saddles, buckles, awards and scholarships, as well as the opportunity to qualify as members of the official Louisiana teams to the National Junior High Finals Rodeo in Des Moines, Iowa in late June, and the National High School Finals Rodeo in Rock Springs, Wyoming in July.
The performance times for the Louisiana Junior High Finals Rodeo are as follows: Friday, May 29 at 1p.m. and 6:30 p.m., Saturday, May 30 at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., with the Championship Round scheduled for Sunday, May 31 at 10 a.m.
The schedule for the Louisiana High School Finals Rodeo includes rodeo performances at 6:30 p.m. nightly from Tuesday, June 2 through Saturday, June 6, concluding with the Championship Round. The cutting events will be held on Monday, June 1 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., with the Championship Round scheduled for Tuesday, June 2 at 10 a.m.
LHSRA is a charter member of the National High School Rodeo Association (NHSRA), which has a membership of 42 states, five Canadian provinces and Australia.
Admission is $10 for all performances. There is no admission for children six and under. Tickets to all events can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com or at the Burton Coliseum Complex ticket office. A season ticket package of $40 per each of the Junior High and High School Finals Rodeos may also be purchased.
