The MLK Coalition announce plans for Martin Luther King, Jr. Festival 2015 held
January 16-19 2015. The theme this year is "The Dream, the best is yet to come" We celebrate the 31st anniversary and being chosen as a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society for the first quarter of 2014, a coveted honor among 12 member states.

The MLK, Jr. Festival honors the courageous efforts and sacrifices of Martin Luther King, Jr.

January 16th
Friday Morning Kickoff--7:30 a.m.-Annual Memorial Breakfast Trinity Baptist Church (honoring outstanding individuals in the community)
Guest Speaker--Chief Justice Bernette J. Johnson, Louisiana Supreme Court

Six High School Choirs (Barbe, DeRidder, LaGrange, St. Louis, Sulphur, and Washington Marion) led by each schools' choir director, accompanied by the Trinity Baptist Church Orchestra.

MLK Unsung Hero Award 9:00 a.m.
First place winners from each division of the essay contest will read their winning essay Open to the public and televised live on KPLC TV.

Saturday January 17th
2nd Annual Gala-7:00 p.m. held at the beautiful Historic Calcasieu Marine National Bank. Featuring a night with the stars and entertainment provided by The Hotline Band.

Sunday January 18th
Gospel Extravaganza-- 6:00 p.m. (performers from throughout Louisiana)

Annual Parade--8:30 a.m. lineup at the Lake Charles Civic Center.
