Efforts, Aid, and Key Dates in Cameron Parish

  • Feb 28 - Cameron Parish has removed a total of 1,102,686 cubic yards to date and will continue to collect debris through February 28th.
  • March 1 - The Cameron Parish Police Jury is administering Hazard Mitigation Grant Funds to qualifying residents to aid in elevation or reconstruction efforts. We encourage residents interested to visit our website www.cameronpj.org for application details. The application period closes March 1, 2021.  
  • March 6 - Audubon will be hosting an SWLA Coastal Cleanup at Rutherford Beach on Saturday, March 6, 8-11 am. We anticipate cleaning and restoring 300 acres over 6 miles of beach. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up at  https://act.audubon.org/a/swla-coastal-cleanup
  • March 15 - The Cameron Parish Police Jury and the Cameron Lion’s Club announce their partnership in creating a Long-Term Recovery Group (LTRC). The LTRC will streamline donated resources and coordinate volunteer efforts. LTCR will also provide forgivable loans directly to business owners and residents to aid in recovery efforts. The application period will open on March 15, 2021.
