The 2023 Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) Boys’ Marsh Madness Basketball State Championship Tournament will be held at the Burton Coliseum Complex, 7001 Gulf Hwy., Monday – Saturday, March 6-11, with the championship games played Friday and Saturday. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the tournament being held in the Lake Area.

 

“It is a thrill to welcome all the teams and their fans to Burton Coliseum each year,” said Eric Zartler, senior vice president of sports at Visit Lake Charles. “We believe that Burton Coliseum provides the ideal atmosphere for crowning champions, and we wish all the teams the best of luck throughout the tournament.”

 

“Student athletes and LHSAA staff are ready to showcase the best competitive high school basketball that the state has to offer. We are anticipating a successful tournament as well as enjoying the local food, culture, and warm welcome from sports fans in the area,” said Eddie Bonine, LHSAA Executive Director.

 

Teams from around the state will compete for championship titles in five class divisions. The first games will tip off on Monday, March 6, at 1:15 p.m. The reminder of the games are set to start at 3 p.m., 4:45 p.m., 6:15 p.m., and 8 p.m. The following three days will mirror the same schedule. Friday and Saturday, championship games will be played at noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 p.m.

Tickets are available for $18 plus facility fee and taxes and may be purchased through Ticketmaster or at the door. Gates open 1 hour prior to the first game each day. Spectators will be able to watch back-to-back games, but if for any reason a spectator chooses to leave the facility, another ticket must be purchased for reentry.
