Visit Lake Charles celebrates the outstanding individuals who make Southwest Louisiana’s hospitality industry shine. The ROSE (Recognition of Service Excellence) Awards is an annual ceremony during National Travel and Tourism Week where we honor the dedication and hard work of those who go above and beyond to create memorable experiences for locals and visitors to Southwest Louisiana.
Visit Lake Charles will host the 4th annual ROSE Awards on Thursday, May 1 at L'Auberge Casino Resort.

This National Travel & Tourism Week, Visit Lake Charles will highlight team members in the hospitality community who make the area shine through the excellent service that they provide on a consistent basis to visitors to Southwest Louisiana. In 2024, 8 outstanding recipients were honored with ROSE Awards, and 9 individuals were recognized with Legacy Awards.
Recognition of Service (ROSE) Award Categories
- Outstanding Banquet/Catering Professional – includes event venue staff who serve guests, including bartenders working catered events.
- Outstanding Bartender – includes bartenders in public food service establishments.
- Outstanding Casino Floor Professional – includes professionals such as hosts, floor runners and attendants, cashiers/tellers, cage and pit managers, and floor wait staff at a casino.
- Outstanding Culinary Professional/Chef – includes professionals such as Chefs, Executive Chefs, Sous Chefs, and Banquet Chefs who prepare food for consumption in public food service establishments, including catering.
- Outstanding Culinary Service Professional – includes waiters, waitresses, bus service, etc., in public food service establishments (must interact with the public).
- Outstanding Front Desk/Guest Service Professional – includes front-line personnel (front desk, guest services, valets, bellmen, clerks, security) at hotels, casinos, attractions, and other venues where this person routinely deals with visitors to Southwest Louisiana.
- Outstanding Hotel Sales Professional – includes general managers, directors of sales, sales managers, group sales managers, convention services managers/planners who work at hotels, motels and casino resorts.
- Outstanding Housekeeping Professional - includes housekeeping personnel at hotels, motels, and casino resorts.
- Outstanding Transportation Professional – includes personnel with charter bus companies, bicycle tours, carriage tours, rental cars, and Uber/Lyft drivers.
