Bayou Ball ‘N’ National Basketball Tournament

LAKE CHARLES, La. (June 18, 2019) — RAP Events is sponsoring its annual Bayou Ball ‘N’ National Basketball Tournament in Lake Charles Friday - Sunday, June 28 - 30, to be held at a variety of locations throughout Southwest Louisiana. Bayou Ball ‘N’ National Basketball Tournament is presented in memory of Bolter Perkins, son of Ronnie Perkins with RAP Events.  After being diagnosed with cancer, Bolter lost his memory, but basketball was the only thing he remembered. This tournament gives the opportunity to participate in a quality tournament and learn about basketball and life skills.

The tournament will consist of youth ranging from 3rd – 12th grade and is open to both boys and girls with each team having a three-game guarantee.  Saturday will start with pool play, and the standings will determine placement for Sunday's bracket.

The tournament will be held at Donald Ray Stevens Community Center, Purple Heart Memorial Recreational Center, Lake Charles Ward 3 Recreation Center (Power Center), LaGrange High School, Lake Charles Charter Academy, Oak Park Middle School, Lake Charles-Boston Learning Academy, Hamilton Christian Academy, St. Louise Catholic High School, and Washington Marion Magnet High School.

“Teams from Mississippi, Colorado, Dallas, Houston and Louisiana are all expected to participate in this year’s championships,” said Ronnie Perkins, CEO of the RAP Athletic Program.

Tournament passes will be available for purchase on Friday, June 28, for $20 at Oak Park Middle School from 6 – 8 p.m. On Saturday, tournament passes are available for $25 at all playing locations. Daily passes are $15.

The deadline to register for the Bayou Ball ‘N’ Championship Tournament is Thursday, June 20. For more information and event details, contact Ronnie Perkins at (832) 496-6723 or visit www.rapbasketball.com.
