Lake Charles Chef Showcases Southwest Louisiana Flavors on National FOX Sports Broadcast

Chef Lyle Broussard of Crying Eagle Brewing – Lakefront serves blackened alligator tacos on Wake Up Barstool ahead of Taste Louisiana in Chicago

CHICAGO, Ill. (Nov. 4, 2026) – Chef Lyle Broussard of Crying Eagle Brewing – Lakefront appeared live on Wake Up Barstool on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) Wednesday morning, showcasing his blackened alligator tacos to a national audience ahead of Taste Louisiana in Chicago. The dish, currently featured on the menu at Crying Eagle Brewing – Lakefront in Lake Charles, will also be served Wednesday evening at Taste Louisiana, a culinary tourism event featuring 16 chefs from across the state.

Broussard appeared alongside award-winning Chef Cory Bahr of Monroe-West Monroe. Together, the chefs brought Louisiana’s culinary traditions to the Chicago-based studio, introducing the show’s hosts and viewers to dishes that reflect the state’s distinctive food culture.

The tacos received an enthusiastic response from Wake Up Barstool personality T-Bob Hebert, who exclaimed, “I could eat a million of these.” Hebert, a former LSU football player and son of former New Orleans Saints quarterback Bobby Hebert, brought an additional Louisiana connection to the national broadcast.

Launched in 2025 through a partnership between FOX Sports and Barstool Sports, Wake Up Barstool is a nationally televised weekday morning show featuring personalities such as Dave Portnoy, Dan “Big Cat” Katz, Brandon Walker and Hebert. The program also reaches audiences through YouTube, social media and podcasts, generating more than 346 million cumulative digital views.

For Visit Lake Charles, the appearance represents an opportunity to introduce Southwest Louisiana’s culinary experiences to audiences across the country while building awareness of the destination in the Chicago market.

Viewers who missed Wednesday morning’s live broadcast can catch up on full episodes and highlights of Wake Up Barstool through Barstool Sports, the show's official YouTube channel, and FOX Sports. Audio episodes are also available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
