Visit Lake Charles has launched "Say Yes to the Venue," an original and captivating four-part video series aimed at introducing engaged couples to the various wedding, special event venues, and the services available in Southwest Louisiana.
In February, Visit Lake Charles ran a contest to find a local, engaged couple looking to find their perfect wedding or reception venue. The contest led to engaged couple, Eloise Boullion and Grant Kelly. Boullion is a digital media specialist with the Calcasieu Parish School Board. Her fiancé, Kelly, is the creative director at Bayou Technologies. The couple has been together for 6 years.
A partnership between the Visit Lake Charles sales and marketing teams, the goal was to help Boullion and Kelly identify the type of reception venues that would meet their needs in terms of capacity and budget. The featured venues in the series include the Historic Cash and Carry Building, BrickHouse Catering & Events, The Stables at Le Bocage, Oak Crossing, and Enchanted Elegance Event Center. Viewers will witness the couple's story unfold as they immerse themselves in the distinct offerings of each location, gaining insights into the process of selecting the perfect reception venue, as well as highlighting how the sales team can assist couples with venue selection and hotel group blocks for out-of-town weddinggoers.
The excitement begins with a 30-second video teaser launching on September 5, followed by the release of the first episode, "Meet the Couple," on September 12. Subsequent episodes will provide an in-depth look at the venues, with "See the Venues Pt. 1" airing on September 19, "See the Venues Pt. 2" on September 26, and the grand finale, "The Decision," airing on October 3. All episodes will be available exclusively on the Visit Lake Charles YouTube channel.
A first-of-its-kind project for Visit Lake Charles, the marketing team wanted to create a series that could be viewed as both entertaining and educational. The series was filmed completely in-house by Brady Renard, Director of Content/Video Marketing. Visit Lake Charles is one of only a handful of destinations able to create and produce a full video series in-house.
