The sales team at Visit Lake Charles (VLC) secured two new conferences for Southwest Louisiana to be held this fall. The Lake Area will host the Association of Louisiana Lobbyists (ALL) Annual Conference, Sept. 24-25, as well as the Public Defender Association of Louisiana’s (PDAL) Annual Meeting & Seminar, Nov. 15-17. Meeting planners for each conference decided to bring business to Lake Charles based on qualities that are uniquely found in Southwest Louisiana from culture to resilience.

The ALL Annual Conference, held at Golden Nugget, will bring lobbyists together from around the state of Louisiana to learn about the latest lobbying and government trends. Louisiana Gubernatorial candidates are expected to address attendees at this year’s event.

“By choosing Lake Charles as our conference destination, we aim to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among our members in an environment that reflects the vibrancy and resilience of Louisiana's business and political landscape. We are excited to view Lake Charles’ resilience and recovery first-hand after the devastation of recent hurricanes,” said Ty Bromell, president of ALL.

The PDAL Annual Meeting, held at L’Auberge Casino Resort, represents public defenders across the state. This is the first time for this meeting to be held in Southwest Louisiana.

The executive committee of PDAL made this statement about why they decided to host the annual meeting in Lake Charles: “We chose ‘Louisiana’s Playground’ because of its convenience, cuisine, and culture. Lawyers from across Louisiana will attend a two-day training program. PDAL members will be immersed in the luxury of our conference site and the down-home atmosphere of the city. We look forward to learning and living it up in Lake Charles!”

“Whenever an organization commits to hosting a conference or meeting in Southwest Louisiana, we strive to provide an exceptional and memorable experience. The goal is to connect the conference with the spirit of Louisiana’s Playground so that our services stand out and encourage them to host events in the Lake Area year-after-year. We are thrilled to host ALL and PDAL this fall,” said Taylor Beard Stanley, vice president of sales at Visit Lake Charles.

Southwest Louisiana is home to four convention facilities, more than 150,000 square feet of meeting space, over 6,500 hotel rooms, and 70 hotels. For more information about hosting events in Louisiana’s Playground, go to VisitLakeCharles.org/meetings.
