Visit Lake Charles is celebrating the first anniversary of its podcast, “Louisiana’s Playground.”
The podcast, hosted by Visit Lake Charles Director of Content/Video Marketing Brady Renard, has highlighted the best of Lake Charles and Southwest through its people, businesses and experiences across 28 regular and five special episodes. The podcast is an auditory guide for listeners looking to build their own Lake Charles itinerary.
“This is more than just a celebration of our first anniversary; it’s a commitment to showcasing how great Southwest Louisiana is and all that we have to offer,” said Renard. “We’re always looking for new ways to share our food, culture and events with people, and the podcast has been a great tool.”
With over 5,200 listens across 25 countries, “Louisiana’s Playground” also features “Envie Eats,” a segment showcasing the best of the area’s local cuisine. Over its course, it has highlighted restaurants such as Darrell’s Famous Poboys and Lebleu’s Landing Cajun Restaurant.
Episodes delve into the individuals who drive the businesses and events that influence Southwest Louisiana and give listeners a better understanding of the current developments and future growth. First-year guests include Louisiana Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser, Director of the Burton Complex Jason Barnes and Board Member of the Cal-Cam Fair Jody Barrilleaux.
