Visit Lake Charles will play host to more than 200 sports event industry and destination marketing organization professionals at the 2023 US Sports Congress conference and trade show Dec. 4-6 at L’Auberge Casino Resort.
This year will mark the first time that the nearly two-decade-spanning sports conference is being hosted in Lake Charles. The event will bring top-level decision-makers representing Sports Rights Holders and Olympic National Governing Bodies to Southwest Louisiana and provide an opportunity for Visit Lake Charles to showcase the destination to attract future amateur sports and sporting events.
“Southwest Louisiana is well-equipped to host sporting events of varying sizes with our diverse selection of venues that include space for larger or intimate settings,” said Eric Zartler, senior vice president of sports at Visit Lake Charles. “I look forward to showcasing our destination to the attendees and cultivating relationships in an effort to bring their events to our area, which offers adventure for players, their families, and fans.”
During their time in the Lake Area, conference attendees will engage in various sessions delving into economic development, sports tourism, and the future of tech in sports.
Attendees will also indulge in a taste of Southwest Louisiana by savoring the Cajun cuisine at several local businesses, including Luna Bar and Grill, The Bekery, Bayou Rum Distillery, Crying Eagle Brewing, The Sportsbook at L’Auberge, and Famous Foods. Other activities include a SOWELA Technical Community College-hosted cooking class and a golf outing at L’Auberge Casino Resort’s Contraband Bayou.
