Intracoastal Park is known by locals as the place to crab and fish.  The park offers sportsmen and families a great destination with amenities including pavilions, camper and tent camp sites, two boat launches, picnic tables with barbeque pits, and a playground.

Blue Horizon Seafood

Blue Horizon Seafood provides fishermen with fresh shrimp for eating and bait! They are open from May through November, so be sure to call ahead before visiting!

Brown's Food Center in Hackberry

Nestled in the quaint town of Hackberry, Brown's Food Center has been a cornerstone for local residents for over three decades. This little country store has everything you need from cold cuts, boudin, groceries, and fishing gear. It's also a stop on the Southwest Louisiana Boudin Trail!

Blue Goose Trail

The Blue Goose Trail features a wildlife observation platform as well as a mile-long paved trail though the freshwater marsh to the shores of Calcasieu Lake. During the birding season you may find wading birds, shorebirds, waterfowl, and more brackish/saline marsh species along the trail. Whether you're planning to enjoy an evening summer sunset with your loved ones or a crisp fall morning walk this trail is open year-round for your enjoyment!

The Wetland Walkway is over a mile long and handicap-accessible! This loop is the perfect destination to stop and get photos of wading birds and vibrant wildflowers but watch out, this area is also home to alligators and various insects!

Holly Beach also known as "The Cajun Riviera" is one of six beaches located on the west side of the Creole Nature Trail. The beach is a one-stop shop for fishing, shell scavenger hunts, bird watching, and is even pet-friendly! Don't forget to properly discard the items that you bring in so that our Gulf Beaches can continue being enjoyed by future generations!

Pintail Wildlife Drive is the perfect place to observe the vast amount of wildlife and wildflowers found along the Creole Nature Trail! Late fall through early spring usher in traveling fowl along this 3-mile loop, but numerous species can be found year-round! Start your journey early because the Pintail Wildlife Drive is only open during daylight hours.

Stop by The Cameron Prairie National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center and allow the animated Cajuns Tante Marie and T-Maurice to take you on a journey through the history of the marsh! This facility overlooks a small freshwater marsh home to year-round residents like the Marsh Wren, Red-winged Blackbird, and many others. After hearing from Tante and T be sure to view the biological and cultural exhibits detailing life on the marsh and how to preserve its natural beauty.
