The McNeese Cowboys continue to make Townsley Law Arena one of the toughest places to play in the Southland. With a fast-paced style and an electric home crowd, February home games bring high energy and big moments. A big reason for that success has been star play across the roster. Freshman phenom Larry Johnson leads the team in scoring, showcasing a dynamic offensive game night after night. Against Southeastern, Larry Johnson delivered one of these well-known standout performances, reaching a game-high 20 points to lead McNeese to a 76–66 Southland Conference win. It marked Johnson’s second straight 20-point outing and his seventh of the season, as the Cowboys improved to 17–4 overall and 10–2 in league play. As February rolls on, McNeese’s schedule is exclusively Southland Conference play, meaning every game on the Townsley floor is not just a chance to entertain the home crowd. Still, it’s a critical stepping stone toward locking up top seeding and positioning for the Southland Conference Tournament, which the Cowboys will host on their own court come March.

February Home Games:

Feb. 9 – vs. Houston Christian | 6:30 p.m.

Feb. 23 – vs. UTRGV | 6:30 p.m.

Fans can expect promotions, giveaways, performances from the McNeese Cheerleaders and Cowgirl Kickers, and an atmosphere that makes every home game feel like a celebration. From tip-off to the final buzzer, Townsley Law Arena stays loud, fast, and fully engaged, with the crowd feeding off every run and big defensive stop. It’s the kind of game-day energy that turns February conference matchups into must-see events and gives the Cowboys a true home-court edge.

The McNeese Cowgirls bring intensity, toughness, and nonstop effort to the floor during a record-setting season under first-year head coach Ayla Guzzardo, turning February into a must-watch month inside Townsley Law Arena. At 16–4 overall and 10–1 in Southland Conference play, the Cowgirls are in the midst of one of the most successful seasons in program history, rewriting the standard in Lake Charles. That momentum peaked in a statement 72–30 win over Southeastern on January 22, a highly anticipated matchup against Guzzardo’s former program that showcased McNeese’s defensive dominance. With confidence soaring and history in reach, every home game now carries even more weight as the Cowgirls continue their push toward a championship run.
