On Sunday, March 22, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards issued a stay-at-home order to combat coronavirus spread. The order requires Louisiana residents to shelter-at-home unless going out for essential tasks effective until April 12. Many attractions, concerts, events, and festivals have either been postponed or canceled activities until that time. View Updates

Situated just off of Opelousas Street is a peaceful haven called Mallard Junction Park. The park features a number of amenities including an outdoor pavilion with a barbecue pit, covered picnic tables with barbecue pits for family or event picnics, playgrounds, a basketball court, a baseball field and a walking track.

Park Amenities

• Pavilion: An open air pavilion with electricity and a BBQ pit is available for park goers. There is no rental charge for this pavilion and reservations are not required. Use of this facility is on a first come, first serve basis.

• Public Restrooms are available.

• Recreations: The park contains a playground, baseball field, walking track, covered basketball court, and an asphalt track that winds through the interior of the park.
