In Southwest Louisiana anglers can choose from freshwater fishing, saltwater fishing or fishing in brackish water (a combination of the two). In approved locations like The Lakefront, Prien Lake Park, and Holbrook Park, casting can be done from fishing piers. For those looking for a more fast paced experience, try surf-fishing from the Gulf beaches. Along the Creole Nature Trail, you'll find numerous locations to drop a line, tip your sun hat forward, and wait for a nibble.
If you're new to fishing, unfamiliar with the local waterways, or want a more guaranteed chance of catching, Southwest Louisiana is home to plenty of guide services. These outdoor experts provide watercraft and equipment you'll need for your day on the water and offer easier access to the Gulf and spaces more tucked away within the marshes.
