Guest Tracie Ramey, the park manager at Sam Houston Jones State Park, joins hosts Brady and Anna on Louisiana’s Playground to discuss Southwest Louisiana’s only state park! The trio discusses the park’s newest facility upgrades, camping opportunities, hiking trails, and upcoming events. Sam Houston Jones State Park is one of the premier places in the Lake Area to enjoy the great outdoors!

Tracie Ramey is the park manager at Sam Houston Jones State Park. She’s worked with the Office of Louisiana State Parks for the last 7 years, moving to Lake Charles in August 2021. Ramey said she was motivated to help restore the park to its former glory, and despite not being from Southwest Louisiana, she said nowhere else has ever felt so much like home.

Jeanne’s Bourbon Street BBQ in Westlake is a unique dining experience. While you indulge in great BBQ flavors, witness one of the only authentic Winchester Museums anywhere. You can enjoy a piece of history with some of the rarest collectibles dating back to 1866. Their menu features pulled pork sandwiches and nachos, racks of ribs, boxed dinners, and daily specials featuring brisket, cajun sausage, and smoked turkey breast. Be sure to save room to try the almost famous Bread Pudding that is topped off with Bourbon Vanilla Sauce, Whipped Cream, and Pecans!
