On Sunday, March 22, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards issued a stay-at-home order to combat coronavirus spread. The order requires Louisiana residents to shelter-at-home unless going out for essential tasks effective until April 12. Many attractions, concerts, events, and festivals have either been postponed or canceled activities until that time. View Updates

Freshwater fishing, brackish or saltwater fishing, pier fishing, and surf-fishing on the beaches, if you have a boat or if you’ve hired a guide, go fishing in the Gulf of Mexico or “deep-in-the-marsh.” Along the  Creole Nature Trail, variety is the spice of life and the options are pretty much endless. All persons 16 years of age and older must have a valid Louisiana fishing license in their possession. You can purchase recreational hunting and fishing licenses through the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries’ toll free number, 888-765-2602, 24/7/365. Fees are payable by Visa, MasterCard or electronic check. You’ll receive an authorization number for your immediate use, and the actual license will be mailed to you.
