Mayor Nic Hunter has led Lake Charles for the last six years, having a steady focus on infrastructure, economic development, and quality-of-life improvements for residents. He has increased funding for drainage improvements by 93% and has secured more than $750K in private donations and grants to build and transform several City parks. 

Mayor Hunter also made good on his promise to “turn dirt on the lakefront,” as Port Wonder, a $20 million-plus science and nature center and state-of-the-art children’s museum, is under construction and will lead the way for other lakefront attractions and a bright future for Lake Charles.
