Vance Perkins is the President of the DeQuincy Railroad Museum Board of Directors. He’s been in that role for the last two years after serving on the board for nearly a decade. Perkins is a DeQuincy native and history buff that also shares his passion and knowledge as a writer for the local DeQuincy newspaper.

After a successful decade in Sulphur, owner Shane Nelson, a DeQuincy native, moved Coconut’s Cajun Grill and opened its doors in DeQuincy in January of 2021. The bar and grill has a robust menu with boiled and fried seafood, cajun cuisine, daily specials, burgers and a fully stocked bar. Coconuts prides itself on its homemade appetizers, entrees, desserts, and the entertainment it offers guests, like karaoke on Fridays.
